‘Hey, Regulus,’ (F/n) said walking up to one of her best friends. ‘Do you think you could help me with Transfiguration homework? McGonagall has given us a lot of homework, but I really don’t understand a single bit about it.’ She adjusted her bag on her shoulder as she walked next to him, trying to prevent it from suffocating her or tearing hairs out of her head. Regulus rolled his eyes at (F/n)’s question.

‘Why are you always asking me? You do realise that transfiguration isn’t one of my best courses, right?’ he asked as he continued walking.

‘Because I assume that, as a pureblood, you know more about magic than I do, as a mudblood,’ (F/n) responded. Regulus flinched.

‘Please don’t call yourself that,’ he stated, stopping in his steps.

‘Why not?’ (F/n) asked as she shrugged. ‘I don’t care. It’s true.’

‘It is a bloody insult,’ Regulus said. ‘I… I don’t want you to put yourself down like that.’

‘Fine, then let me rephrase my sentence,’ (F/n) responded. ‘I assume that, as a pureblood, you know more about magic than I do, the muggleborn. Better?’

‘Barely,’ Regulus answered bluntly. ‘Please rephrase your sentence again.’ (F/n) rolled her eyes, before a grin appeared on her lips.

‘Nope,’ (F/n) answered as she continued walking. She was quickly pulled back by her elbow. The movement causing her bag to fall of her shoulder, onto the floor, with a rather hard thud.

‘(F/n), I-‘ Regulus was cut off by a rather familiar voice.

‘Awh, are the lovebirds having a quarrel?’ Sirius asked, grinning at his younger brother and his Slytherin-friend. Regulus rolled his eyes.

‘What should it matter to you?’ he asked. ‘Would you be so kind to bugger off?’ Sirius pretended to think about it, placing his finger at his chin.

‘hmm… No, I don’t think I will,’ he answered. ‘And as for your first question. Can’t I be simply curious about my little brother’s relationship with the beautiful and wickedly talented (F/n)?’ He winked at (F/n), a smirk on his lips. (F/n) held in a laugh as she looked at him. She then started to imitate the older brother’s thinking pose.

‘Hmm,’ she hummed, pretending to think. ‘No, I don’t think you can.’ Regulus rolled his eyes as Sirius grinned.

‘Well, either way, I will,’ Sirius answered. ‘So what were you children arguing about this time?’

‘You do realise that you’re like only two years older than us, right?’ Regulus questioned. ‘If we’re children, you are too.’ Sirius shrugged.

‘I never said I wasn’t a child,’ he answered. (F/n) rolled her eyes at the older brother, before looking at Regulus again.

‘You know, I think I will rephrase my earlier statement,’ she said. Regulus raised his eyebrows. ‘So let me rephrase: I assume that, as my best friend, you know more about magic than your brother does, the bloody git.’

Regulus couldn’t keep a smile off of his face at the statement.

‘Now, that is a statement I can agree on,’ he said, while Sirius placed his hand against his chest.

‘(F/n),’ he gasped. ‘I’m hurt that you think that way about me. I thought we had a connection! How could you betray me like this?’ (F/n) giggled at Sirius’s dramatic behaviour. She should have been used to it by now, but it got to her every time.

‘Well, obviously, you thought wrong,’ she answered after her giggles has calmed down a little. Sirius put a fake-dejected expression on his face, looking at the floor.

‘That hurts my heart!’ he playfully declared, though the smile on his face couldn’t be concealed any longer. ‘You’ve betrayed me for my brother, who you are standing with beneath the mistletoe as for this moment.’ At the mentioning of mistletoe, both (F/n) and Regulus looked up, only to see mistletoe growing above their heads. Regulus glared at Sirius.

‘Christmas is long over, you idiot,’ he hissed. Sirius shrugged in response.

‘Christmas may be over, but mistletoe is forever,’ he answered. Regulus shook his head in annoyance.

‘No it isn’t, what do you even think you’re doing?’ he hissed, making sure (f/n) couldn’t hear it. ‘Do you even think about the consequences this brings? (F/n) hasn’t even spoken since you said that. This could ruin our friendship you know and if it did-‘ Regulus was cut off by his face being grabbed by two cold hands. His face was turned back to (F/n), who, for a quick second, placed her lips on his. She soon pulled back, a grin on her face as she noticed Regulus’s ears turning a pink colour.

‘Well, I gotta go, still need to turn in my history-homework,’ she said. ‘Also Sirius, you might want to watch your back, otherwise you’re going to be kissing Potter by this evening. After all, the laws for the mistletoe are to be respected, right?’ she then casually turned around and walked away. ‘Bye boys. ’

Both Black brothers looked after her until she disappeared around the corner.

‘Reg, she’s a keeper,’ Sirius said when she was out of sight.

‘I know,’ Regulus whispered.

‘No, like, really,’ Sirius said, taking his  little brother by his shoulder. ‘Keep her, because I might actually hurt you if you don’t.’

‘Please let go of me,’ Regulus answered, looking at his brother in annoyance.

‘She’d be the best sister-in-law,’ Sirius continued. ‘Can you imagine? That’d be awesome. You better ask her to be your girlfriend soon, otherwise I’m going to do it for you! Prongs would certainly help me if I asked…’

‘Oh, for the love of Merlin,’ Regulus groaned as Sirius rambled on. ‘Sirius, please bugger off….’
