(M/n) looked at him with a small smile.

“You will remember me, right?” he whispered, before running towards the empire. (m/n) wrapped his arms around Rome’s neck, engulfing him in a hug, before he felt the others sword going through his stomach. Rome’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Rome woke up, breathing unsteadily. He stood up, standing shakily on his legs. He quickly walked out of the door of his room. Walking down the hall, he almost fell two times. Then finally he reached the door. He softly opened it, looking through it. The room was dark, the only light coming from the hallway. A small lump on the bed, sleeping soundly, only some tufts of (h/c) hair were out of the mess of blankets.

I feel the salty waves come in

I feel them crash against my skin

And I smile as I respire because I know they'll never win

There's a haze above my TV

That changes everything I see

And maybe if I continue watching

I'll lose the traits that worry me

Rome sighed in relief. Salty tears gliding down his cheeks. His shoulder shaking in his silent cries. Reliving memories, he’d rather leave alone. Yet never forget. He’d never want to forget (Ancient/Name). He had been devastated after the battle. And after a while the only thing that got him to hold on, was little (c/n). His second chance.

Can we fast-forward to go down on me?

Stop there and let me correct it

I wanna live a life from a new perspective

You come along because I love your face

And I'll admire your expensive taste

And who cares divine intervention

I wanna be praised from a new perspective

But leaving now would be a good idea

So catch me up on getting out of here

“Uncle Rome, when is daddy going to be home?” (C/n) asked, tugging on Rome’s tunic. A question the small nation asked every day. Rome knew he wouldn’t be able to lie forever, but for now he wouldn’t corrupt the small one. Rome forced a large grin on his face.

“Soon enough, now go out and play,” he waved the small country outside, who just nodded with a smile. When the country left, Rome pressed his hand against his chest at the place where his heart was pounding loudly. “Be still, I know,” he muttered to himself. “I will tell him soon enough.”

Taking everything for granted but we still respect the time

We move along with some new passion knowing everything is fine

And I would wait and watch the hours fall in a hundred separate lines

But I regain repose and wonder how I ended up inside

Rome looked at the small country across him, sitting in the grass. (C/n) had tears rolling down his face, his eyes red and puffy. On the side, Italy was hugging Romano closely, impressed from the story they just heard.  (C/n) looked at the empire.

“U-uncle Rome?” he asked, a shaky smile on his face. Rome looked at the country, surprised that he was still being called uncle, even after revealing he had been the cause of (A/n)’s death. “When I grow up I’m going to be a great nation, just like dad and you.” Rome smiled, tears appearing in his eyes. He nodded, whispering a soft thank you.

(Getting out of here)

(C/n) looked at his body in the mirror. It had been growing a lot lately, as of the moment, he had the body of an older teen. What had caused this change? Up until now, he hadn’t been growing a lot, mostly because he had been beneath the reign of uncle Rome. (C/n)’s eyes widened. He ran out of his room. Down the hall Rome had walked through so many times when he had a nightmare to make sure (C/n) was still there. And now, (C/n) was doing the same. He opened the room of his self-proclaimed uncle with a heavy thud, tears appearing in his eyes as he saw what was happening.

More to the point, I need to show

How much I can come and go

Other plans fell through

And put a heavy load on you

I know there's no more that need be said

When I'm inching through your bed

Take a look around instead and watch me go

Rome was slowly fading away, just sitting on his bed. The empire looked up when he heard the door open and smiled when he saw (C/n). The younger nation ran towards the empire, looking at him, not being able to say anything. Rome pressed his hand softly against the younger male’s face, but (C/n) did not feel it.

“I’m sorry I wasn’t able to correct my mistakes,” Rome said. “And I’m putting you in such a position while you’re still so young. That’s way too heavy.” (C/n) just shook his head wordlessly, trying to say something. “Don’t say anything,” Rome said. “There is nothing to be said. I think it is time for me to go.”

Stop there and let me correct it

I wanna live a life from a new perspective

“Uncle Rome,” (C/n) stammered as he noticed the empire disappear. He tried to grab for Rome, but only caught air. Tears streamed down his face. “U…uncle Rome?” Sobs escaped his lips as he buried his face into the blanket. “Please…”

“Please come back.”

It's not fair, just let me perfect it

Don't wanna live a life that was comprehensive

'Cause seeing clear would be a bad idea

Now catch me up on getting out of here

So catch me up I'm getting out of here

“Hey, hey, you finally here?” (A/n) asked with a grin, petting Rome’s shoulder quite harshly. Rome looked a bit surprised at the ancient welcoming him so friendly here, wherever he was.

“Wh… Why?” Rome asked.  (A/n) swung his arm around Rome.

“Well, I’m here to guide you towards our end-destination,” he said smiling. “It’s pretty nice.” The (H/c) ancient’s expression turned serious. “Besides, it wasn’t your fault to begin with. And if it was you have redeemed yourself. (C/n) turned out quite good. Not perfect, but that’s nobody. So you’ve done a good job. But let us not wait any longer and go towards the end.” Then without a warning (A/n) took the other empire’s hand and started pulling him forward.

“Let’s get out of here!”
